The Law:

Below we attempt to outline the basics for you, at the bottom of the page there is a link to the official government site on health and safety and also a more informative link, which takes you to our Links page.

The Basics...

Although there is no general legal prohibition on working alone, the broad duties of the Health & Safety at Work Act and Manual Handling Safety at Work Regulations still apply. These require identifying hazards of the work, assessing the risks involved, and putting measures in place to avoid or control the risks.

It is important to interview employees and their safety representatives, as they are a valuable source of information and advice. This will help to ensure that all relevant hazards have been identified and appropriate controls chosen; consultation with employees and their representatives on health and safety matters is a legal duty.

Control measures include the high level of monitoring offered by Life-Call Ltd. and will help to minimise the risk to lone workers.

Life Call for Lone Workers - Employee remote monitoring with response alarm
