Life-Call now monitors flexible systems to cover the "lone worker" on the
move.
These monitored systems are based on a "unit" worn by the "lone worker" at
the remote work place. The unit incorporates a panic button and a tilt alarm
and is monitored on an emergency alert basis. GPS technology will send an
instant SMS message to the monitoring centre giving the signature, the
position and time of an emergency alert, activating pre-arranged call-out
procedures. The unit is designed with the fallibility of the worker in mind.
The units communicate with either a vehicle-based station or a portable
satchel-based station when within 300 metres of their base station.
Further radio systems are available to cover the factory floor or visiting
personnel (e.g. repair and maintenance personnel) via a pager.
These systems are designed to be tailored to a company's individual
requirements.
